Education as a Vaccine
Nearly one third of Nigeria’s 160 million people are between the ages of 10 and 24. Nigerian adolescents’ sizeable share of the population make them integral to the country’s social, political, and economic development. EVA is a youth-led non-profit organization focused on improving the health and development of these adolescents. EVA strengthens the capacity of children, young people, and stakeholders to initiate and sustain social change in sexual and reproductive health, basic education, and child protection. Through a variety of engaging approaches and activities, including peer education, life skills training, counseling, and advocacy, EVA implements innovative and sustainable systems to strengthen the livelihoods of Nigeria’s most important asset, its future generation.
EVA is one of Nigeria’s leading non-profit organizations and is based in Abuja, with offices in Benue, Nassarawa, Cross River, and Niger states. Focused on impacting the lives of the most vulnerable and marginalized children and young people, EVA concentrates its work in regions where the need is the greatest. Since its establishment in 2000, the organization has successfully contributed to improving the health and development of over 700,000 children and young people in Nigeria.
