SELENE BIFFL

SELENE BIFFL

Selene always believed in the power of one. Due to this belief she changed many things.

She believed in this so much in fact that, since a very young age, she tried as hard as she could to create opportunities for peers and adults alike to get involved in a renewed, holistic and shared vision for change. Be it through Youth Action for Change – the organisation she founded at age 22, now active in 130 countries worldwide – her work with the UN in ten countries, striving to inspire and empower people to thrive, or Plain Ink – a humanitarian venture conceived after working with illiterate, destitute communities in Afghanistan – she has always pushed herself out of the conventional comfort zone to create ways to help people leverage their full potential, hone their skills and share their wisdom to tackle the challenges affecting the mankind at large.

MARTIN KIRCHNER

MARTIN KIRCHNER

Martin has been chosen as one of the first „Architects of the Future“. He has devoted many years to develop a model settlement for sustainability, which is currently being built in Lower Austria. Out of the inspiration of meeting other social entrepreneurs from around the globe he developed “Pioneers of Change” in Austria, which is a holistic training program to empower regional changemakers. It is running successfully since 2010, with soon almost 100 participants who meanwhile also build a strong network and movement for change.

After our “prove of concept” starting in Vienna we are now transferring the program to other region starting with another part of Austria, Italy and Germany. Personally Martin will spend 2013 in the visionary Auroville-project in India to do a sabbatical together with his wife and his three kids.
